The statue was made by Str\u00f3bl Alajos and was unveiled in 1901. During the Czechoslovak invasion in 1918-19 the statue was vandalized. Later it was considered to have been lost. The statue was repaired and unveiled again in 2010 with the inscription \u0022Sissi\u0022.
