The Hungarian Central Railway Company started the construction of the line in 1844. The railway between Pozsony and Vienna led through this bridge over the V\u00f6dric stream. The first train hauled by steam-powered locomotive passed through the bridge on August 20, 1848. The single-track railway was expanded to double-track in 1881. The retreating German troops exploded the bridge on April 4, 1945.
